When I read the article written by my colleague Dr. Raymondi, I knew that you have to share it with you. The fundamental question in every addiction is what part it takes in patient’s life. You can look for the durable solution as soon as you find its answer.
Seeing a therapist is a huge step to a better mental health. Even though it isn’t cheap, it is an important investment in your current and future wellbeing.

Therapy is a step towards achieving goals that can’t be evaluated financially like happiness, good relationship with one’s family, life without anxiety, etc. And aren’t those the things we long for most.
Mental illness and other psychological disorders have always been controversial. One of the main reasons this topic can be so polemic is all the myths surrounding it. There are many wrong beliefs about mental illness and psychological disorders, but right now, I’d like to focus on one that’s very damaging and sheds a light on the long road we’ve still got to travel when it comes to mental health.

There’s many ways to express this damaging belief, but it boils down to something like this:

There are millions of books about how bad parenting may damage children for life; psychologists work hard to help people overcome the traumatic childhood; some of you probably suffer from psychological issues related to lack of attention, abandoning parent, child abuse etc. But here’s a thing, which might surprise you.
Good parents also might have screwed us up.

Here are some examples for things that your parents might have done, willing to give you all the love and affection in the world and nevertheless, at a later stage, their actions might have been the cause of some toxic behaviors or personal issues.
